This sector encompasses water utilities, one of the
largest consumers and users of chambers. Chambers are used for
access to valves of all types (including sluice, gate, butterfly
and pressure release), large and small meters, stop taps
and fire hydrants.
Water companies have historically used pre-cast concrete sections
to build their chambers but these are very heavy and in-practical
in both handling and installation. Scrap rates, due to breakages,
can be as high as 20%. Furthermore the unseen costs
resulting from time off work and claims due to back injury and
other muscular skeletal disorders (M.S.D.’s) can be just
as alarming.
Life span of concrete is also a major
issue as costs are
driven down by the water companys. Very often the quality
of concrete has suffered. This in turn can greatly reduce the
life span of the installation incurring greater costs further
down the line.
The STAKKAbox™ addresses these issues by providing a low cost,
high quality, low weight (all units are less than 25kg) solution
that provides utilities with years of service in even the most
demanding of installations. CLICK HERE to see an
